CNAs are an integral part of a heath care team. They support doctors and nurses in patient care and patient services. This job is always in demand and has a higher than average pay scale. CNAs do most of the hands on work for patients. They are responsible for a great many things depending on which aspect of heath care they work in. Each section of heath care includes a new job description for the CNA.

If a CNA works in the hospital they might be responsible for taking direct care of patients. They will need to be able to do tasks like take blood pressures, weights, and temperatures. They take vitals periodically throughout the day and night. In a doctors office a CNA has different responsibilities than in a hospital. In a nursing home CNAs also take vitals such as temperature and blood pressure but they are also required to do a lot of hands on patient care. CNAs also can work privately as home care assistants. They can work in homes giving the same care that they do in hospitals and nursing homes. These are sometimes called home health aides.
