GED Social Studies Overview

When taking the GED social studies test, you will be asked questions that are organized into 3 different broad topics. Those 3 topics include:

  1. Reading for Meaning in Social Studies (31%)
  2. Analyzing Historical Events and Arguments in Social Studies (40%)
  3. Using Numbers and Graphs in Social Studies (29%)

You will be given 70 minutes to complete this section. Please note, there are no breaks given for this portion of the exam.

You will be given access to an on-screen calculator or you can bring your own TI-30XS calculator if you will be taking the exam in-person at a testing center.
