Advice for Grad Students
Want to make it out of graduate school on time? Matthew Pratt Guterl posts excellent advice that every grad student should consider. My favorite point: "You are more than your dissertation, and more than any one project." Let the dissertation swallow your identity and perfectionism can stall your progress. Another gem: Write every day. The only way a dissertation - or any project - will get done is by daily effort. Small consistent periods of writing is what keeps the project in mind and slowly chips away at it.
