NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) is a test conducted for licensing the nurses in the United States. Under the membership of NCLEX, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing plans and conducts two national examinations for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). These are meant to test all entry-level nurses for their competence and for providing them licensure as Registered and also as Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurses. For appearing in any of these tests, you have to get the NCLEX dates.

National Council Licensure examinations are available exclusively as computerized adaptive tests for the 50 states in The US. In addition it includes the District of Columbia as well as the four territories of United States covered under American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.

There are no fixed dates for test. All applicants have to get the appointment after the approval from the respective state board of nursing where they need to apply. After getting the approval from the state, the candidates have to check with Pearson Vue (authorized agency) about the dates and timings available to schedule their exam. This may be done online or on telephone. It's not like that everyone takes the exam on a particular date at certain time.

To get the appointment for exam, the candidates have to meet the eligibility requirement and submit an application to the concerned board of nursing where he/she wishes to be licensed. The registration is to be done with Pearson Vue and examination fee is to be paid. The candidate has to receive the eligibility.

After getting eligibility approval and receiving ATT, one can request for a schedule of the exam and avail any of the following options. The person should take test within the specified validity dates as mentioned in ATT. She/he cannot extend these dates.

Appointments can be arranged up to one day in advance. One should be careful while selecting the Board of Nursing and make a proper selection of board and type of test. However, one can make a request for change through customer service by paying the necessary fees.

If someone is interested to schedule the exam outside of the United States, he/she has to take the help of customer service and pay the fees and Vat tax for that. If you do not receive your confirmation letter, you should call or check online to be sure that the appointment is scheduled or rescheduled.
