Why One May Want To Consider Taking The IELTS Reading, Listening, Speaking And Writing Test Modules

IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System. The system is a compilation of modules which test potential college students for English proficiency and others for various reasons. As such, if one is planning on attending college, applying for a job, or seeking immigration to Australia or Canada, one may have to complete the IELTS reading, listening, speaking and writing modules of such test before one can be accepted to University, hired for a job, or, allowed into a foreign country.

As such, this testing system, which has been in place for some time, is based and managed by the University of Cambridge Examination Board. However, there are two different IELTS tests. One is an academic version, while the other is intended for those planning to undertake non-academic training, to gain valuable experience, or, for immigration purposes.

Although, while both testing programs are considered excellent, the academic test is often considered more difficult by those taking such a test than the non-academic one. This is especially true when it comes to the reading and writing aspect of such tests. For, while one may need a great deal of knowledge to attend university, complete coursework and graduate, those looking to enhance skills, or test for a job, often do not need as much knowledge or structure as those planning to attend a four year university program.

In addition, such testing is often accepted and provided by most academic institutions in South Africa, New Zealand, Ireland, Canadian, British and Australian universities. In addition, the testing is also accepted at over three thousand universities in the United States, along with various professional organizations who also administer and accept such testing. However, while most individuals take such tests to either attend university, test for a job, or enhance skills, such tests are also a requirement for immigration to both Canada and Australia.

However, as such test scores are only valid for two years, one may have to complete another IELTS test when such scores expire. So, as the test results are only valid for two years, most four year students must often repeat such testing in order to graduate. However, after having attended school, or taken the test for other reasons, one can most likely easily pass the second round without issue.

Also, before taking such a test, one can often look online to find sample tests so that one knows what to expect when the time comes to take the test. Of course, unless one is proficient in listening, reading, speaking and writing, one is not going to be successful in other areas. So, in order to assure that both professionals and students are effective in the future, such testing has been developed.

To this end, if one is interested in attending a four year university, upgrading testing skills for a job search, or desires to immigrate to Australia or Canada, one may need to complete the IELTS Reading and other modules of such a test before one can move forward with such plans. For, unless one can read English, one can not understand the various coursework provided by a university. In addition, if one is not proficient in the English language, including but not limited to, listening, reading, writing and speaking, one can not understand directions in relation to a job, or be able to communicate with others in a foreign country such as Canada or Australia which require such testing for immigration.
