How to Take the Exam

You may take the CompTIA A+ exam either online or in person. PersonVue manages all the testing for CompTIA. Here is the link to the official site.

Testing Fees

The cost of the CompTIA A+ is $246 per test. Since you need to take both exams to receive the certification, you will end up paying $478 total ($246 + $246).

Requirements

There are technically no prerequisites to take the CompTIA A+ certification exam. However, it is recommended that you have 9 to 12 months of experience (either in the lab or in the field) before taking this exam.

Scores

Candidates are given a raw score for each test, which is then converted into a raw score on a scale of 900:

  • CompTIA A+ 220-1101 requires a score of 675 to pass.
  • CompTIA A+ 220-1102 requires a score of 700 to pass.

Candidates will see their score on their screen immediately after completing their exam.
